Peter Pan Hand Painted Wall Mural : Hartburn Lodge Respite Centre

This is a recent project that I have done for a respite centre called Hartburn Lodge, which is based in Stockton on Tees. What they were looking for was a feature wall in a bedroom which ran along the lines of sleep. The colours had to be toned down so as not to provoke excitement prior to the children going to sleep. When you look at the typical Disney Peter Pan colour range you can see that they use very vibrant colours.

As well as the colour range being right, we had to find the right image that wouldn't be scarey for the children. Due the large age range, and the range of difficulties the children have you can imagine that this project was quite a challenge. However I think (and Hartburn Lodge agree) that the end result is exactly what the initial brief out lined.

You will also notice that there is a quote that runs along the top of the wall which is take from the Peter Pan story. It reads,.. "So come with me where dreams are born and time is never planned. Just think of happy things and your heart will fly on wings in Never
Never Land". Because some of the children cant read we used the symbols that they use for each word and put them underneath.
